Best places to stay in Brighton & Hove – The Chill edit
If you’re heading to Brighton & Hove and wondering where to stay that isn’t the usual bland hotel experience, you’re in the right place. Whether you’re house-hunting, city-hopping, or just fancy a little seaside escape, we’ve handpicked some of the coolest, most character-packed spots in town.
This isn’t just a generic list — these are places we genuinely rate. Stylish Airbnbs, boutique hideouts, sea-view balconies, even a little bit of luxury (because you deserve it).
KIRA Beach House – Hove
First up — and probably our favourite — is the gorgeous KIRA Beach House. This 2-bed Airbnb in Hove has a big, private garden and feels like a proper seaside retreat. But don’t let “beach house” fool you — this place is maximalist heaven. Think bold colour, curated design, and so many cool touches you’ll be mentally redecorating your own home by breakfast.
Inside, it’s deceptively spacious. Outside? You’ve got Hove Beach Park literally across the road — with padel courts, tennis, a skatepark and a slick new pump track. Fancy a post-match pint or sea-view brunch? Rockwater is just a 10-minute walk away, and you’ll probably end up staying for sunset.
A lot of guests call this the best Airbnb they’ve ever stayed in. We back that.
Artist Residence Hotel – Brighton
Brighton energy, bottled. Artist Residence is a creative, colourful bolthole right by the West Pier. Set across two Regency townhouses, each room is individually designed with quirky artwork, exposed brick, and chilled vibes throughout.
There’s also an in-house restaurant, a café, a bar, and possibly one of the best breakfasts in town. If you’re into interiors, coffee and effortless style — this one’s for you.
Hotel Una – Brighton
For something a bit boutique and beautifully designed, Hotel Una ticks every box. Just a short walk from Brighton Station and moments from the seafront, it’s all soft textures, natural wood, and cool artwork.
Some rooms have private saunas, free-standing baths, or even hot tubs — so if you’re in the mood for a little self-care, this might be the move. Bonus: there’s a cinema room and a bar downstairs. Perfect post-beach chill zone.
Hotel Du Vin – Brighton
Tucked away in The Lanes, Hotel Du Vin gives total “understated luxury” vibes. Housed in a beautifully restored 19th-century building, it’s all about plush interiors, candlelit dinners and a wine list that goes on forever.
If you’re planning a special weekend or just want to soak up the elegance without going full five-star, this is a solid choice.
Lansdowne House – Hove
Right in the heart of Hove’s heritage zone, Lansdowne House is a bit of a hidden gem. Wide, leafy avenues designed by architect Charles Busby give it serious grandeur, but it’s still just a 3-minute stroll from the sea.
It’s peaceful, pretty, and full of character. Great if you like your accommodation with a bit of history and Hove charm.
Brightonwave – Brighton
This stylish little B&B is set inside a traditional townhouse and has been totally modernised for a comfy, contemporary stay. Just minutes from the beach and Brighton Pier, Brightonwave is ideal for those who want to explore on foot, but still come back to somewhere super chill.
Each room has its own en suite, flat-screen TV and even a DVD player (if you’re feeling old-school movie night vibes).
The Grand Brighton – Brighton Seafront
And of course… we couldn’t not include The Grand. This is Brighton’s grande dame — think high ceilings, sweeping staircases, and views of the sea that go on for days.
Rooms are plush, staff are lovely, and the terrace is ideal for cocktails in the sun or classic Sussex cream teas. It’s definitely a bit more ‘treat yourself’ territory, but if you’re celebrating something (or just fancy being boujee), it’s hard to beat.
And a quick shoutout to…
-
Selina Brighton – Great for digital nomads or younger travellers with a love for design-led co-living and a bar that knows what it’s doing.
-
Drakes Hotel – A romantic, grown-up seafront hotel that’s low-key luxe.
-
The Ginger Pig – Stylish rooms above a great gastropub in Hove. Food = elite.
